A Fictional Valorant Organization featuring the most Famous Players in the Community
SYZN is a fictional Valorant team that focuses on professional play and content creation. With the help of OpenAI's ChatGPT, I was provided with a brief for the brand, which I used to kickstart the project.
The initial idea provided by the AI
felt niche and at that point in time teams were experimenting with their stylization. I took a few elements from the brief and proceeded to try something new.
Logo & Wordmark
Three elements provided by the brief formed SYZN's identity. The letter “V”, an eye and an eagle.
The logo features sharp corners and wings, indicating the team's boldness, as well as an eye in the center, representing focus and attention.
The name SYZN is a twist on the word “Syn” which is a prefix that means “with” or “together”.
Posca doodles served as inspiration for SYZN's brand direction. A bold yet vibrant colour palette reflects the team's duality, professionalism and playfulness along with its typeface, patterns, and graphic assets.
The palette was carefully chosen to convey optimism, positivity, excitement, and courage. The colour red draws your attention to a specific element, and when combined with yellow, it gradually shifts your focus to the overall energy of the composition. Which feels lively and free.
The team consists of players who create content and play professionally. They understand when to focus & lock in versus when to lay back & relax. Bringing this dynamic to the graphical side proved to be a challenge, I had to account for animations as well which helped fuel ideas and find the right balance.
